why are we doing this?

The Blue Economy was a key topic at COP26 and rightly so, as to keep 1.5 degrees within reach we need a healthy ocean, but currently the sector is woefully underfunded and under supported. That’s why we’re launching our first-ever Blue Economy Ocean Accelerator Programme for SME businesses.

Who Are We
TARGET VENTURES

  • Based in the UK or EU or operating in the UK or EU;

  • A large target market in the fields of plastics, aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, shipping and offshore wind;

  • A robust impact measurement strategy and an ambitious team

  • A scalable, provable and feasible business proposition, generating consistent revenue and/or undertaken previous seed fundraising rounds and found traction with customers, partners, investors.

THE PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

  • 8-week programme in total, commitment of between 5-10 hours each week required;

  • Pro bono support: including legal, investment readiness, tax, scientific advice and impact measurement;

  • Mentorship: 1 to 1 individual mentorship and group mentorship sessions;

  • Community: regular in-person meet ups and peer-to-peer community calls with other ocean founders;

  • Access to networks: personal invitation to attend our exclusive in-person networking events in London, introductions to our corporate and blue economy industry partners;

  • Pitching opportunities: pitching opportunities to funders, corporates and partners at our Meet-The-Buyers event.
